Call for a ceasefire

The Bureau of the International Parliament for Safety and Peace followed the developments of the Conference held in Paris for humanitarian aid in Gaza.  French President Emanuel Macron called for a ceasefire, stating that Israel has "the right to defend itself and the duty to protect its people" but reiterated that the Israeli government also has "an eminent responsibility (...) to respect the law and protect civilians."

 “The fight against terrorism can never be without rules,” he continued.

 IPSP-WOS believes it is appropriate to remember that in war some principles must still be respected and armed responses must be exercised within the limits of international law.
